No matter whether  you are conversing with German business partners, listening to Mozart, nestling in bed with a book by Goethe or Grass, or simply ordering a drink in a Munich beer garden, mastering the German language has endless advantages.


Our classes are taught exclusively by experienced instructors who are native speakers of German and cater for everyone from beginners to advanced.

Our classes are held at Scotch College (KENNEDY BUILDING, ground floor), 76 Shenton Rd, Swanbourne, class rooms are at the corner of  Claremont Crescent and Australind Street.

 Class times

SEMESTER 2 2019 (18 weeks)

Enrolment night at Scotch College, 6 pm: 16th July

Term 3: 23/24 July - 24/25 Sept (10 weeks)

Term 4: 15/16 Oct - 3/4 Dec (8 weeks) 

TERM 4: these are continuing classes from last term. There is no intake for complete beginners in term 4. If you have previous knowledge, you can start with us at any time. Send an email to goethesocietywa@yahoo.com and we will endeavour to help you in any way we can. 

Beginners I (Level A1/1)  Wed 6-8.30 pm Beginners II (Level A1/2) Tue 6-8.30 pm

Intermediate I (Level A2/1) Wed 6-8.30 pm Intermediate II (Level A2/2) Tue 6-8.30 pm

Advanced I (Level B1) Wed 6-8.30 pm Advanced II (Level B2)  Tue 6-8.30 pm

Advanced III (Level C1)  Wed 6-8.30 pm


Running of classes is subject to student numbers.

Fees are paid per semester (two terms / 18 lessons)

Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced: $360

Concession (commonwealth seniors health care card holders, students): $330  

The payment of the course fee for the Beginner classes or new course participants in any level must be made no later than one week before the course begins. In particular, as late-comers to the Beginners course struggle to catch up, your place might go to another candidate, if payment is not made on time. Please notice our refund policy below.

Fees can be made in cash or by cheque on the enrolment night; or by direct debit (details on the enrolment form):

Refund Policy: No refund will be given for missing classes or for withdrawal. Please discuss deferral with the coordinator.
