Goethe Society WA

Hallo, wie geht's?

The Goethe Society WA aims to provide language courses and a fun learning environment that meet individual, local (state), and national needs as well as the highest possible internationally recognised standards. Students are welcome from the age of 5.

In our Beginners 1 class (from the age of five), the children make their first experience with the German language in a fun and playful way. In the Beginners 2 and Intermediate classes, the basics skills are further developed, and students are prepared for the Advanced class (Years 10-12). In this class, the focus of the adolescents is on getting ready for the WACE (West Australian Certificate of Education) Background Speaker Exam and the DSD2. In addition, we offer a German as a Second Language class (Deutsch als Zweitsprache - DaZ) for children with native speaker background.

We plan our lessons based on an understanding of our students' learning needs and abilities and work closely with parents to ensure the best possible learning outcomes. All our instructors are native German speakers and participate in regular professional development programs.

The Goethe Society WA has been acknowledged as a PASCH-School (Schulen: Partner der Zukunft) in 2017. Among many advantages, this will allow us to conduct the internationally recognised exam, the so called DSD2 (Deutsches Sprachdiplom 2 = German Language Diploma). The DSD2 is accepted as a proof of acquired language skills required by universities as one of the entry conditions to study in German-speaking countries.
